About the Farm
Edward and Kara Babinec opened Springfield Acres in 2020 with a simple vision: create a place where people could slow down, breathe in fresh country air, and connect with something growing.
The farm offers u-pick sunflowers from mid-July through mid-September, tulips in late April and early May, and pumpkins in the fall, giving visitors a reason to come back throughout the season.
Springfield Acres also hosts events that bring the community together, often in collaboration with neighboring local businesses, and that community-first mindset extends to their farming practices as well, including using pigs from nearby Gunthorp Farms to naturally fertilize their fields.
Whether you're cutting blooms for a bouquet, chasing golden hour photos, or just looking for a peaceful afternoon out of the house, the farm delivers a genuinely warm and welcoming experience. For a young farm, Springfield Acres has already become a beloved corner of LaGrange County.
