About the Farm

Few Indiana farms can trace their roots back 170 years to the same piece of ground, but Grateful Grazers is one of them. The Bovee family has been farming just south of Stroh since 1854, and today 21 direct descendants of Harold Bovee are still actively involved in agriculture, most living within 10 minutes of the original homestead.

Jonathon and Christi Bovee, along with their six children, are blessed to live on and steward that original farm, carrying forward a legacy that has weathered the Great Depression, the consolidation of rural America, and every challenge in between.

In 2012, the family made a deliberate shift away from row crop farming to focus entirely on raising 100% grass-fed cattle, doubling down on their commitment to quality over convenience. What drives them hasn't changed in six generations: raising honest, high-quality food for their community.
